Florentina Almonte is a seasoned media executive and content strategist with extensive experience across television, film, and streaming platforms.  She is currently a consultant specializing in content acquisitions and distribution strategy for FAST (Free Ad-Supported Streaming TV) channels, helping emerging media brands develop and launch innovative programming offerings in the U.S., Latin America, and Spain.

Previously, Florentina served as Content Acquisitions Executive at ShortsTV International, where she led the acquisitions of short-form content across the U.S., EMEA, and LATAM territories. She was also instrumental in the licensing and theatrical distribution of Oscar®-nominated short films in the U.S. and internationally.

Her career includes leadership roles at major networks, including as Programming Director at HITN TV, where she developed and executed the network’s programming strategy, negotiated affiliate distribution agreements with leading cable and OTT platforms, and guided the launch of key content initiatives targeting U.S. Hispanic audiences.

At A+E International Networks, Florentina managed relationships between global ad sales teams and their U.S. counterparts and supported affiliate marketing efforts for A+E’s international networks. 

Florentina advocates for the inclusion of independently produced films and programming and has been a juror for various prestigious events, including the New York Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS)/Emmys Awards, the Louisiana Film Prize, Palm Springs Short Fest, Heartland International Film Festival, Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival (LALIFF), Ecuadorian Film Festival, Chile Monos International Animation Film Festival, Bushwick Film Festival, Santa Fe International Film Festival, and Shorts Mexico International Film Festival. In 2016, CableFAX recognized her as one of the Most Influential Latinas in Cable.

She brings a global, multicultural perspective to film and TV distribution, with deep insight into content strategy, distribution opportunities, and platform evolution.
