As I began making animated videos that express a changing of light always surrounding us by accumulating photos and manipulating time, I started to think about the “time” that settles and accumulates inside people.
When I think of a scene, a chain of unrelated scenes also begins to come to my mind.
Sometimes, a sound or a scent suddenly bring me back to a scene from the past, and it is difficult to even distinguish whether it was a real life experience, or something that happened in a dream.
Firstly, In this artwork, I took more than twenty thousands of photographs routinely at various locations, rearranged them in a different order from the actual passage of time, and was transparent to layered each of them.
Secondly, I set these scenes on a time axis based on flickering and repeating images, and added a sound of wind I heard clearly and a sound I heard unconsciously, such as an air conditioner and vending machine during shooting.
Through these process, I attempted to transform the urban space captured by these photos into multiple worlds.
