Everything about Lyne Lapointe reflects the influence of art on her life – from her impressive career as an artist to the smallest detail of her daily life. Lesbian, feminist and rebel, she has never ceased to show in her works the difficult place of women in society and in the art world. This concern will be the guiding thread in the story of her life and of her work. In 1996, a serious accident put an end to the deployment of her first period – revolutionary urban works produced in abandoned heritage buildings which earned her an international reputation. Forced to settle in the countryside, she will be inspired by her new environment which will fit strongly into her creative journey. With the tenacity and intensity that characterize her, she was able to reinvent her approach and over the decades, her new production has acquired undeniable recognition. She has been the subject of major exhibitions in Quebec, Canada and abroad and several of her works can be found in major museums. A fanciful and endearing personality, she wins the sympathy of the public seduced by her art as by her character in a documentary imbued with beauty, poetry and humor, without obscuring the torments of the life of an artist, nor of life in general.
