“The Final Bow” documentary is an exploration of the rich history of New York City’s Theatrical training and rehearsal space, Shetler Studios and Theatre. After 30 years serving the community 7 days a week, the famed studio was forced to close its doors due to the impact of the Covid 19 pandemic.
Some of the most notable Broadway productions were perfected within the walls of Shetler Studios and we have assembled a talented roster of performers and production professionals to tell the story
of how Shetler Studios, over the decades, overcame many obstacle to grow from 800 sq ft- to 23,000 sq ft in the heart of NYC theatre disctrict, to how the pandemic proved to be too much for this independent theatre owner and took out the studios, while sending an entire industry reeling into such uncertainty, that no one knew if or when Broadway would make its way back, and who would be there if it did come back.
“The Final Bow” utilizes archival footage, photos, and interviews, with a wide ranging cast of professionals, while filming in real time during the height of the pandemic in NYC, in order to tell the stories of those who over the last three decades have honed their skills and/or personally received coaching from Ron himself.
The film will feature an exclusive interview with Ron Shetler and stands as the only documentary officially authorized by Shetler Studios and Theatre
