A Nice Place to Visit

Exhausted by the relentless cycle of midnight feedings and colic, Sofia is a new mother teetering on the edge of a breakdown. When she crosses paths with Charlie, a frantic “time-travel junkie” obsessed with his high-tech stash, she manages to swipe a pair of experimental sunglasses that allow the wearer to blink past life’s unpleasantries. Initially, the glasses are a godsend; Sofia fast-forwards through diaper blowouts and temper tantrums, curating a “highlight reel” life where she only experiences the smiles and milestones. However, the shortcut comes with a hollow price. As the gaps in her memory grow, she realizes she is becoming a stranger to her own child and losing the emotional tether that only shared struggle can forge. With her sense of self eroding, Sofia must decide to reclaim the messy reality of motherhood before Charlie—who is closing in and desperate to reclaim her fix—forces her into a permanent skip.
