In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Taylor, an African-American delivery woman, crosses paths with Lin, the harried mother and owner of a Chinese restaurant in Queens. Lin, overwhelmed by the impact of the virus, is forced to close her restaurant and grapple with the responsibility of caring for her children. Meanwhile, Taylor experiences her own setback when the last order she picks up is unexpectedly canceled, leading to a financial loss and a fine. Both women, seeking solace from the pandemic’s pressures, find comfort in each other’s company. They bond over a viral social media trend called the “screaming in the pot” challenge, engaging in a lighthearted activity that brings them closer together and fosters mutual understanding and camaraderie.
