At once succinct and far ranging, witty and full of sophisticated allusions, Robot Parade has an ending which takes audiences by surprise. Passing the cheering crowd march the Robot family, the multiplying Horn Blowers, our fearless floating Superheroes, the famous Twittering Machine, and even a three-eyed grinning timpanist and his infinitely put upon drums. But when Traffic Bot turns on its headlights, things go “this does not compute” in a hurry. Watch for references to Man Ray, Paul Klee, Juan Miro, Brave New World, Spike Jones, and even our favorite 1960s windup toy…Mr Machine!
